Installation Wim Rutgers on new chair Literary science & research

On Friday, October 26, Wim Rutgers was officially installed on the new chair at the Faculty of Arts, with his oration, entitled: Niemand schrijft met opzet een slecht boek; Antilliaanse literatuurkritiek, literatuurgeschiedenis en literatuurwetenschap. (No one writes a bad book on purpose; literary criticism, literary history and literary science in the Antilles) The purpose of this new chair for literary science and research, is to build up knowledge by means of research and education, on an academic level. The chair will also enable more coordinated literary research and teaching and promote the exchange of knowledge between the islands in the Caribbean region.
